On March 30, Hongru Ma gave an academic report titled "Family Status, Cultural Concepts and Women's Well-Being" online.Part of the teachers and students attended the lecture presided by Qiong Zhang.

First, Hongru Ma introduced the research status of women's happiness level in my country. Secondly, Hongru Ma selects the data of the China Family Tracking Survey (CFPS) and uses the Ordered Probit model to conduct an empirical analysis on the influencing factors of women's well-being. The study found that even women with higher family status did not necessarily produce higher happiness. Especially for women with lower education level and those who are bound by traditional cultural values, higher family status has a particularly significant negative impact on their well-being. Hongru Ma believes that in addition to considering the influence of family status, factors such as education and cultural concepts need to be studied. Finally, according to the conclusion of the study that traditional cultural concepts affect women's happiness, Hongru Ma provides policy suggestions for improving women's happiness.

The academic forum which is informative and insightful broadened the horizons of the students and teachers, providing them with a deeper understanding of the happiness level of Chinese women.
