Abstract:Population aging is a serious social problem facing our country and even the whole world. Life satisfaction is an important indicator to measure the quality of life and well-being of the elderly. The empirical results show that whether to enjoy a pension, the type of pension and the level of pension have a significant impact on the life satisfaction of the urban and rural elderly. Therefore, the government should increase financial investment to further improve the coverage of the basic old-age insurance system. On the basis of the integration of the pension system, efforts should be made to narrow the excessive gap between pension levels, and at the same time, vigorously promote the development of the health service industry, especially the development of community medical services, so that the elderly can obtain convenient health care services.
