No.62: Dynamic evaluation, imbalanced characteristics and distribution dynamics of the high-quality economic development of the Yangtze River Delta

Abstract:An important purpose of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta is to solve the problem of regional development imbalance. How to measure the high-quality economic development of the Yangtze River Delta and its trend and dynamic evolution of distribution is currently an urgent problem to be solved to achieve higher-quality integration of the Yangtze River Delta. The paper selects the panel data of 41 cities in the Yangtze River Delta from 2012 to 2018, with the five new development concepts of innovation, coordination, green, open, and sharing as the core, combined with the characteristics of high-quality economic development in the new era, and uses dynamic evaluation methods to measure the economic growth of the Yangtze River Delta. Quality development level, with the aid of Dagum Gini coefficient and kernel density estimation of sub-parameter methods to explore the spatial imbalance and dynamic evolution process of the high-quality economic development of the Yangtze River Delta; the study found that the economic high-quality index of the Yangtze River Delta cities showed a “decline- The positive U-shaped development trend of “rising” continues the differentiation pattern of “high in the east and low in the west”; there is a significant unbalanced situation in space. Among them, the difference between Anhui Province and Jiangsu Province is the largest, and there is a significant “polarization” in the evolution process. Phenomenon", showing a trend of polarization or multi-level differentiation. Finally, it puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to implement differentiated high-quality economic development strategies, innovative city cooperation and mutual assistance mechanisms, and coordinated high-quality economic development.
