On May 26, Ruiqi Ma made an online academic report entitled "Study on the Measurement of Multi-generational Income Mobility of Chinese Urban and Rural Families".Part of the teachers, graduate students and undergraduates attended the lecture presided by Xianjuan Luo.

Ruiqi Ma uses the intergenerational income transfer matrix and the conditional income transfer matrix to measure the level of family multi-generational income mobility. Ruiqi Ma splits the relative change process of the three generations of family income into two transfers, in order to explore the changing law of intergenerational income flow in urban and rural households. The results show that the multi-generational income of urban and rural households shows a trend of class consolidation, and the flow of intergenerational income has gradually appeared unfavorable structural changes. Compared with urban families, the quality of multi-generational income flows of rural families is higher, and their offspring have a greater chance of getting rid of the multi-generational poverty trap.The academic forum which is informative and insightful broadened the horizons of the students and teachers, providing them with a deeper understanding of the Multi-generational income flow in urban and rural households.
