Xin Li, professor from Nihon Fukushi University was invited to deliver the academic lecture online on June 9th named The Half-a-century Experience and Lessons of Implementing Universal Health Insurance in Japan and Its Reference to China. Part of the teachers, graduate students and undergraduates attended the lecture presided by Lijian Qin, the Associate Dean.
Xin Li introduced the development process of universal health insurance system in Japan and summarized the three main features of health insurance system in Japan --- universal medical insurance, free access to healthcare and unlimited reimbursement of expenses. What’s more, she elaborated the four types of health insurance in Japan --- National Health Insurance, National Health Insurance Union Managed Health Insurance, Union Managed Health Insurance and Mutual Aid Insurance. At last, the teachers and students present at the meeting had a heated discussion with strong academic atmosphere. The academic forum which is informative and insightful broadened the horizons of the students and teachers, providing them with a deeper understanding of health insurance system in Japan.
