On the morning of June 3rd, we invited Professor Baoyu Cui from Anhui University to give a lecture entitled "Are Chinese farmers 'good at division' or 'good at cooperation'? --On the influence of Confucian culture on farmers' cooperatives".Part of the teachers and all students attended the lecture presided by Dean Lijian Qin.

First, Professor Baoyu Cui summarizes the theoretical controversy over whether Chinese farmers are "good at division" or "good at cooperation"; second, he raises the question of whether Confucian culture can influence farmers' cooperation in light of the current dilemma in the development of farmers' cooperatives in China and theoretically analyzes the relevant mechanisms; finally, the empirical results show that Confucian culture influences farmers' cooperation through two channels: the level of educational public facilities and social capital.

The academic forum which is informative and insightful broadened the horizons of the students and teachers, providing them with a deeper understanding of the farmers' cooperative behavior under the background of Confucian culture.
