No.69: Research on Influencing Factors of Total Health Expenditure Based on Multiple Regression Model

Abstract:In recent years, China's social economy and residents' income levels have increased rapidly, the total health expenditure has increased rapidly, and the level of residents' medical expenditure has continued to increase. Health services are related to people’s health and socio-economic development. Each country must determine the total amount of resources consumed by health services and the best way to produce and distribute health resources. To further understand the reasons for the increase in health care costs in China, the relationship between the increase in health costs and the number of medical facilities, and the relationship between health costs and population growth, this article uses data from 1996 to 2020 to establish a multiple linear regression model to analyze Several important influencing factors affecting overall health expenditures have been developed to formulate health financing policies suitable for the coordinated development of China’s social economy and provide a basis for adapting to the needs of economic development, structural adjustment and system transformation.
