On August 26th, our institute invited researcher Minghao Ou from Nanjing Agricultural University to give an online academic report entitled "Rural Land Circulation and Food Security".Part of the teachers, graduate students and undergraduates attended the lecture presided by Dean Lijian Qin.

First of all, Minghao Ou gave a detailed introduction to the current situation of rural food security and land transfer in my country. Minghao Ou believes that with the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization, the comparative benefits of traditional agriculture continue to decline, and rural residents are not very enthusiastic about farming, leading to the outflow of a large number of rural laborers, which has become an important factor in promoting land transfer. Secondly, Minghao Ou closely focused on the rural "three-rights separation" reform, the system of entering the market for collective business construction land, and the rural homestead system, etc., to give an in-depth analysis of the institutional barriers to rural land transfer and the influencing factors of food security. Finally, Minghao Ou put forward targeted policy recommendations for the current land system barriers from the perspective of public ownership.

The academic forum which is informative and insightful broadened the horizons of the students and teachers, providing them with a deeper understanding of the rural Land circulation and food security.
