On April 28th, Tiening Zhou made an online academic report entitled "Research on the Impact of China's Foreign Direct Investment on Environmental Pollution-Local Effects and Spatial Spillover".Part of the teachers, graduate students and undergraduates attended the lecture presided by Chenxue Zhao.

Tiening Zhou constructed a comprehensive evaluation index of environmental pollution based on the panel data of 31 provinces in China from 2005 to 2017, and empirically analyzed the local effects of China's foreign direct investment on environmental pollution through the spatial Dubin model. Its research shows that foreign direct investment will not only promote the pollution of the local environment, but also promote the pollution of the surrounding environment. In response to the research conclusions, Tiening Zhou put forward countermeasures and suggestions from the aspects of corporate behavior constraints, technological innovation, and the establishment of a cooperative governance framework. The academic forum which is informative and insightful broadened the horizons of the students and teachers, providing them with a deeper understanding of the relationship between investment and environmental pollution.
